Here a couple pics of a true Russian AKM. These were sent to me by a buddy working contract in the Gulf Area.

Test fired and ready for detail and coating.

Assembled the barreled action before I found the issue with the front sight. It had been soldiered on. The grooves for the sight spring were blocked and the dove tail was bent or something. I’ll dig into that a bit more tomorrow then test fire.

Drilled the 1.88mm gas port hole with the jig I made.

Put in the bullet guide bolt rotator. Installed the mag catch and trigger guard.

We sorted out the Galil kit. The front sight itself has some issues. The area on the barrel where the gas block goes was a bit oversized. Threw that in the lathe and took care of that.
